The village of Nouvion-en-Ponthieu is quite small but the church is elaborate. This is one of the side chapels in St Valerie Church. The oldest mention of this village is 831. In the middle ages it must have become important enough to have had a fortified keep as King Louis the XI stayed here in the 1460s.
